I managed to get sick over the weekend. Thankfully not that nasty stomach bug, just a cold. In order to expedite recovery, I took Sunday off. Mind you, this was my definition of "off," which means I still went for a walk and skied around with little kids. Not ideal.
Then Monday dawned a sunny, blue-bird winter day. I decided being inside to continue recovery wouldn't help and I convinced myself that a little classic "shuffle" around Aroostook State Park would help me feel better. Granted, I did go on fishscales to keep myself in check, but I'm really not sure a two hour ski can count as a just-get-outside-to-breathe-fresh-air sort of recovery activity. In any case, there's no way to know if the ski helped or hampered getting better. Maybe this would've been a tough cold to get rid of no matter what I did. The only two things I know for sure are that I'm really bad at resting when I need to, and the ski was in fact beautiful. Evidence below.
Many thanks to Amber for bugging me to rest until I finally listened!
